St Galmier (42). In France, the largest would be Beaucroissant (38) - not far from Lyon either - [link] that has been taking place for 790 years! What is interesting is that these places are small towns that are not anymore important cities, but that used to be dominant cities a few centuries ago - in the pre-industrial era.

It is simply a farmer's fair, in the birds section. This fair has be existing for centuries.
